Hi,
I'm looking for the best IP config for my setup.
I have an HG612 modem as a modem on my FTTC service (with Now TV).
And an Asus Router looking after everything on the LAN side.
Assuming I use an IP range of 10.n.n.x on the LAN with x being the subnet.
Should I assign 10.n.n.1 to the modem, 10.n.n.2 to the router and everything from 10.n.n.3 up to 10.n.n.255 to the clients on the LAN?
I am assuming the modem needs to be in the same subnet so I can access it via LAN Port 2.
Am I on the right track please?
I did have this running untill a ligtening strike took out my modem, router, nas and a load of other electronic kit
and I can't get hold of my config files until I can get back online properly. My disaster recovery didn't cover such a disaster
.
It also blew a hole on my roof but that's a subject for a different forum
.
Thanks as always for any advice.
