Snow!
« on: May 05, 2021, 07:53:48 AM »

Everything is white outside this owning. Snow in May! Unheard of. All the garden is covered. The mountain tops have been white the last few days and now it’s at ground level.

We had a few flakes two days ago and a bit last night but it did not settle.

When I was about 12 I remember going to see my uncle who was on holiday in his caravan in Wales in June, guess what we had to stop in the caravan all the time as we had a blizzard.  :o

Had a very dry April with frosts most nights and more frost tonight forecast.

That doesn't surprise me. Yesterday, here in East Anglia, there was a wind from the north with rain, hail, sleet and rain.  :(

Summer is late starting this year.  My neighbour asked me today to keep an eye open for his tortoise which he thinks may have hunkered down somewhere and gone back into hibernation due to the past week being so cold.

*There's only one path between mine and his which is the 'hedgehog run'.  I doubt a tortoise would get over the deliberate pile of rocks anyhow.... but a bit surprised why he didn't shut it back up in the shed again.
