I've never understood why these big ISP's delay in announcing FTTP. It's not like they are building their own network. All they have to do is have their own router that is capable of FTTP speeds.

I'm sure there is something more going on than I know. But it does confuse me when I see belatedly big ISP's announcing FTTP.

Maybe to do with staffs not enough fully training on FTTP or maybe to do with Openreach not fully setup on their system.

Wasn’t it because Plusnet’s billing system is broken

Utterly broken, here's hoping Plusnet Mobile get VoLTE, Wifi Calling and 5G before EE shut off the 3G signal next year.

I doubt it Plusnet will get 5G for a long while off yet (not this year nor next year)

When I left Plusnet (said I did not want to renew the contract), on the last month they charged me for both the end of the contract period and the uncontracted FULL price for the rest of that month.  I do not recall any other company doing such a thing.

Yes they promised it would auto-refund later and surprisingly it did, but is it not illegal to take money for a period outside your contract when you explicitly cancelled it?

A gentle reminder that this topic, "Plusnet to Launch FTTP Soon", is in the News Articles section. Discussions about a particular ISP should be made in the ISPs section.

The site been updated but it didn't show all pricing! But, knowing FTTP won't be coming to Cuckoo Oak until 2030 - that's my wild guess! Will remain on FTTC 80/20 until FTTP become available then will change to FTTP 80/20.

And they've broken their site on Firefox:
Error code: SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP

Previously the portal had this problem but not the main website.

Or they don't offer Gigabit yet, as it says Full Fibre 500 is their "fastest ever speeds".

Their Full Fibre 74 is a pretty good deal though.  I've been checking a few ISPs and few seem to be pushing Full Fibre at FTTC speeds, only for the faster ones.

I have seen the price for full fibre from Plusnet. All must come with 24 months contract might put off customers of signing up. I am sure other ISPs are much cheaper than that with standard 12 months contract.

Full Fibre 74Mb £25.99 for 24 months
Full Fibre 145Mb £30.99 for 24 months
Full Fibre 500Mb £40.99 for 24 months

There is no full fibre for lower entry such as 35Mb or higher one such as 900Mb.

I did email a isp a while back asking them would they make me liable if I couldnt keep my FTTP for 2 years due to tenancy expiring on property, at first they refused to talk unless I gave them an active FTTP postcode, so gave them a postcode, then I got a response along the lines of our supplier requires us to commit this long so I would be liable, I then linked them some documents from openreach stating thats not true (1 month) and they stopped responding.

Its a shame plusnet a budget ISP has no 12 month packages.
