Will probably result in a price increase for those sourcing their own.

Zyxel supplies some major ISPs including Zen Internet in the UK

I thought Zen only supplied the Fritzbox these days?

The source for the above report from Techradar is Bloomberg's article ;

Sixty-Week Delay on Router Orders Shows Scale of Chip Crisis

There's a bit more info in there about the 'crisis', but it implies that Zyxel have been having supply problems for just over a year and asking ISPs to order up to a year in advance....  so who knows if perhaps they have a batch on order - even though they currently using Fritzboxes.

Despite the shortage in chips and the supply problems (not helped with Suez blockage*)  Zyxel shares have risen by 181%.   So the stockmarket tends to think its going to push prices high.

*All rather strange, Ever Green was stuck for how long - 4 days?
It then took another few days to get traffic moving through the canal and clear the backlog, so we're talking of just over a week, and not a permanent delay at that.     Surely it's a drop in the ocean when you're talking 60 weeks!    UK warehouses are currently holding more than double the usual inventory.    Reminds me a bit of the covid loo roll panic buying.   ???

Unfortunately the chip fabrication plants are in huge demand from suppliers happy to pay more than is feasible for commodity residential routers.

Given the issues AMD, nVidia and others are having with supply not a surprise others are in the same grief.

Games consoles and phones are happily eating up the higher end, enterprise equipment at least some of the lower end supply.

@kitz,

Strange that you mention the Ever Given, as it's still not  reached its final destination: https://www.vesselfinder.com/amp/vessels/EVER-GIVEN-IMO-9811000-MMSI-353136000

Is that page actively being updated, as this is confusing unless they mean NEXT year ;)

The current position of EVER GIVEN is at Red Sea (coordinates 30.37116 N / 32.37811 E) reported 2 mins ago by AIS. The vessel is en route to the port of Rotterdam, sailing at a speed of 0.1 knots and expected to arrive there on Mar 31, 02:00.

Surely the estimated time to arrival would have been updated?

The Ever Given is impounded in Egypt until the owners pay the salvage fee.
