5G Sim Router options?
« on: March 15, 2021, 10:02:02 AM »

You wouldn't think this was so difficult to find but I am struggling to find a 5G Sim router. Ideally, I was hoping to get one from somewhere like Aliexpress from the likes of Xiaomi (or maybe Huawei).

On searching for this, even just on google, it just seems to be bringing up 4G routers but I can see no mention in the descriptions if they also support 5G or if they ever will with future firmware upgrades. It seems odd why they would withhold this given its a hell of a selling point if it did support 5G

Therefore what is the best reasonably priced 5G router that can be bought? By router I mean an actual router with Ethernet ports as opposed to a MIFI device.

Are there any options for this? I was wanting to buy a Sim router and it seems silly not future proofing myself with 5G as my area may soon be upgraded.

The Huawei 5G CPE Pro 2 is apparently a very good router, although it is expensive. I have the 4G version and that gets very good reviews.

Why slim?  Generally speaking if you want the best performance it needs to be function over form.  Making devices slim almost always comes at a compromise.

Routers in general are getting bigger and chunkier because that's how they can perform at their best, especially if you need good WiFi coverage.
