802.11ax speed ?
« on: March 12, 2021, 03:50:19 AM »

I don’t know anything much about 802.11ax - is it faster than 802.11ac or 802.11n at the same channel bandwidth utilisation?

The only thing worth having from the 802.11ax is WPA3 security.

But you can get WPA3 without 802.11ax

I don’t know anything much about 802.11ax WiFi 6 - is it faster than 802.11ac or 802.11n at the same channel bandwidth utilisation?

Short answer is yes, the more complex answer is maybe.  WiFi 6e is better as you get a whole new frequency band to play with.

The only thing worth having from the 802.11ax is WPA3 security.

I strongly disagree.  Intentional or not, I get the same speed on WiFi 6 on my laptop at 80Mhz channel width that I struggled to get at 160Mhz channel width on WiFi 5.
