That increase in latency any time you upload or download that you were complaining about in another thread recently.

Have you compared an AAISP BQM to a BT BQM? They can be night and day.
A long speed test or big download on my BT FTTP shows up clear as day on a BQM.
The majority of AAISP BQM's I look at are practically a flat green line.
The lower contention on their network is fantastic for latency.

If you have rubbish routing to a particular game server, say bouncing to the continent and back despite it being a UK server (see it all the time), how many of the ISP's you named above could you get through to the person who would fix that? It's none.

I can see the arguement that they are overpriced, that the benefits aren't worth the premium paid, but to argue it's the same as Talktalk and BT is ridiculous.
Neither even offer a static IP as an option.
AAISP give you enough static IP's to give every device in your home 1.

I wouldn't pay what they charge but I can see many benefits to gaming, and many other benefits on top.

I'll add, Talktalk also use the OpenReach Standard DLM profile making anyone on an ECI cabinet much more likely to be interleaved, adding 8ms latency. Horrible for gaming.
BT seem to randomly assign the Speed or Standard profile.
Talktalk refuse to change it and it's near impossible to get BT to do so (high level complaints etc).
AAISP will put you on any DLM profile you like.

There’s no way AAISP is worth the extra cost for what in the grand scheme of things is a tiny issue that most users - I suspect even gamers - wouldn’t care about.

What issue is insignificant? I posted a number of points in my post.

Latency is the number 1 priority for my gaming.

I think most of us on this forum would love to be AAISP customers.
They have a great network and also great technical support.

However the price is at least £10 - £15 per month too expensive, and it comes with a measly 2TB data cap (for VDSL Home::1).

I don’t have any ‘cap’ - I use as much as I want. I buy a certain amount of download and then get charged for any excess at a slightly higher rate. If you wish to go for on of those more modern deals with a :: in the name, ask about higher  data usage.

Gamers potentially use TONS of data.

What are you doing that makes 2TB a small cap I wonder?

The month I brought my Xbox Series S, I downloaded a ton of games from gamepass library and still didnt come close to the measly cap you mention.

A 2TB limit sounds fine to me but I'd really struggle to justify the £55 per month cost. I'm paying BT £36 per month and I'll be looking to reduce that come contract renewal.

Working from home...  :-\
We average 2.4TB each month since the lockdowns.

I'm hitting quite close to 2TB. In Feb 2021, I used >1.6TB. If I was using my internet connection for offsite backups, no doubt I would go over if I was on AAISP.
I'm using the connection for a mixture of working from home, gaming, uploading gameplay recordings, video streaming, etc.

I've used 4TB in a month before, frankly all ISPs should offer unlimited usage now.

I don’t agree about the unlimited thing although I completely sympathise. If users go completely crazy then they can introduce congestion into the network which affects others. If they are business users who genuinely need unlimited use then they just have to pay extra for that, to pay for upgrades to the network.

FWIW : I have Zen as my ISP and there are 4 gamers in my house, I have two lines, both now Zen (I switched line 2 from PlusNet about a year ago).  My son is a fairly hard core FPS gamer where latency is something he is pretty sensitive to ... we haven't had any issues.

I appreciate its anecdotal but thought it might be helpful,

I noticed this claim from IDNet:

"Why IDNet? Speed! The lowest-latency network in the UK."

4TB should not be an issue for any decent ISP over a single month.

The reality is AAISP are just milking their customers and with the greatest of respect, you can't/won't see that.

Am I the only one who sees "MI5-audited network" and immediately thinks "oh, so its guaranteed to have an MI5 backdoor"?

There must be a lot of caveats to that claim seeing as most latency comes from outside your ISP.  Either from before you reach the ISP or after your traffic has left them.
