Slow CLI in modem
« on: October 29, 2021, 11:43:08 AM »

Was talking to my ZyXEL VMG 1312-B10A this morning, using telnet. Took over 20s to get the login prompt and every line in the CLI was similarly ridiculously slow to appear. The modem status display delivered by the Johnson firmware’s http #2 stats and graphing server was similarly slow to respond, taking ages to update the display.

Have I got a high priority thrashing process somewhere? Is it in a bugged state? If so, I suppose I can reboot it remotely, can I? Can it be rebooted using the normal web UI, or by a CLI command in telnet?

If logged in as "supervisor" (either by telnet or by ssh) the CLI incantation is the expected word . . . reboot.

Many thanks for that. I have the supervisor password saved. Is the admin user no good?

Sorry, I have never tried when logged in as "admin". (And I don't really want to test it.)

Hint --

Code: [Select]
[The Cattery]$ telnet ap
Trying ...
Connected to ap.
Escape character is '^]'.
