The Lakeland ones are cheaper but don't claim to last so long, so I guess it's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other.

Can't believe that they really work - seems too good to be true. Another thing is - how do you know when you have done 1,000 washes? I'd need to have a chart to tick off.

I was wondering about that. But as I do less than three washes a week on average, 1000 washes would be seven years' worth. Before that, the washing machine (and me as well probably) will have worn out.
