VMG8924-B10A reboots on wan
« on: February 16, 2021, 09:55:49 PM »

Hi my vmg8924 looses connection to the internet sometimes every 2-3 hours, other times it can be once every 5 days.

What happens is the internet, (earth led light) goes out for a few minutes and I then get a new ip address.

The dsl link and system uptime do not reset, only the ipv4 uptime.

What could be causing this? I notice if I try and login to the router when internet drops it is very slow to respond.

From what you have described, it appears that the PPPoE session is being dropped.

It may not be that the VMG8924-B10A is responsible . . . it could be a problem at the other end of the link, in your ISP's domain. The first step in diagnosis would be to test with a different modem/router for a couple of days and see if the PPPoE session still randomly drops.
