@Psychopomp have you managed to turn your TTB router into a bridge mode? Although with your speeds you probably would have no need.

No, I'm on TTB FTTP so have no need to use any kit in bridge mode. I'm keeping the TTB wifi hub as a spare router and instead using my Netgear RAX200 as it supports wifi 6 (TTB kit is only wifi 5). However in your case, you'll probably find the TT router is better than than your Asus RT-AC68U for wifi as its a 4x4 router whereas the Asus is only 3x3. You might be pleasantly surprised by the wifi performance on the TT hub  ;)

Well the TTB router has arrived and its a big beast. Wifi seems as strong as my Asus, although not connecting as fast as the VMG-1312-B10A I have in place (54) connects at 51 so not much in it. I have been told to call up TTB to get a username and password at 6pm on 23rd for my own router until then the engineer will plug the TTB router in.

@banger - I had a look at talktalkbusiness website, and I'd be interested in the Ultrafast Business Fibre offer. But I had the impression that you have to be a businees to order their broadband, I'm a bit confused... i.e. the first question of the form is about the size of your business  ???

Also, I couldn't find any sort of availibility checker, I can only call them the to check what is available in my area, is that correct?

Tia.

Yea you need to put your postcode iirc in and they check availability and call you back with the results. The Talk Talk retail site I think has a checker, it's essentially the same network just different CS. GFast and FTTP are not available to me so I will have to email the rep for updates.

I don't think you need to be a business.
I've used business services a few times, some long before i was self employed.
Under business name i just put my name, just like a self employed sole trader would.

The only real difference is you get a bill with a vat receipt so you can claim stuff back in a tax return.
If you don't need do a tax return then just bin them.

There's usually no special requirements like being a registered business or vat registered etc
I've only ever seen that being required for expensive leased lines and is probably more to do with running a credit check on the business.

What exactly are the differences between TT and TTB ?

When people say Talk Talk they generally mean the residential ISP.

In this context were talking about Talk Talk Business where they can provide backhaul links into the exchanges for cheaper than Openreach charge.  These are provided to many ISPs such as Zen, Uno, etc.

Confusingly there is also a Talk Talk Business ISP service.

Andrews and Arnold is another example - they often resell TTB internet access from the end user to the AA network in London Docklands.

For those that may not know there are a fair few hops in this chain that can't be seen, mostly between visible hops 1 and 2. Unless the number is insane hop count is nothing to worry about.  :)
