Hi SE,

Burakkucat theorised on your other thread that you are connected to an eci m41:
https://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php/topic,25981.msg436384.html#msg436384

Interestingly your notes suggest the ECI has been put in a new shell, which matches what CarlT posted in June 2019:
https://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php?topic=23590.0

still deciphering the rest of it

Hi meritez, yeah ive asked for the post to be moved  ;)

Reading the links now

Got it from the isp and a call just before

Yes they said stay on eci as huawei causes interference and that i may have had my port nicked, but im not sure if thats the case for me

But im not sure if the test shows my port or the cab state
I did tell them that my drop was fast and at re contract start but they think its the cab
and the new shell lost me  :baby:

They are talking about a cab swap
O.R are coming out in a few days to esclate it, but id like them to confirm im on a bad port and not that the isp has me on a 40/10

Hoping he can call it in and see what my isp paid O.R for

The PCP deload / reload was the moving of all copper connections in the PCP to a new one, it wasn't work done on the DSLAMs.

Hi CarlIT
So would there be a new cab down the road?

By that chat i just got, do they know 100% that my port is bad, or are they thinking bad ports so thats the speed prob?

Yes they said stay on eci as huawei causes interference . . .

That is utter nonsense.  :o

In the simplest of phrases: "ECI bad, Huawei good".

Yes i thought that too
Dont huawei have new standards like vectoring

They said heat, cold cause probs that afect huawei so get a broadcom chipset modem router

Im doing that after the draytek probs
With broadcom and a free fritzbox I'll have better stats

BC ive got Admin to remove, or merge my posts
Sorry its been a long week on the phone, chat with the isp, then or out and now again

Im trying to find broadcom chiped dsl routers now too

Speed has falling over last 3yrs. When OR tested the ports on the Cab, all gone bad. So OR Tech raised a Lums case but have not got any further on this. If I get any disturbance on the line I get interleaved. 8ms/3.1 inp. been like this for 3 months  :(
Also interesting to note my Upload speed has dropped by 10Mb as well. was on 18Mb+

And here's Sheba our Black cat doing what cats do best...

Hi Parkdale
So your speed drop was over time, did it fluctuate at times, going up or did it hit point it never went over?

This is what gets me
Its in O.R's best interest to fix ports/cards or fit new cards with more capacity, they would get a good return on this investment surely

Are they still taking orders at your cab?

They know parts fail and should have the money aside for replacing them
But where the cash goes well I guess that's political so won't go there  ;)

Or they are under staffed, underpaid and over here

If 99% of customers never notice and just put up with it then its no return on their investment at all.
Now if people complain, get constant engineers out or leave for a rival network.....

Yep thats what ive been told
The isp said that its not too often they get a pc user with cats and deasktop network meters
They mostly get phone users on wifi that move isps to get better wifi
and if Facebook loads then they're happy

Not knocking them, its how the world is i guess

Okay today two O.R guys came out and.......
Its a bad card and port

Its been left open and not closed this time
Im now on a waiting list as there are no cards and no ports, but they can put bigger he said
But i guess thats decades away  ::)

So if i change isps will this stay open? Is it now out of the isps hands
