Problem with ADSL line?
« on: July 15, 2020, 11:08:30 PM »

Hi,

I'm having some issues with my ADSL connection in the last week, constant drops, SNR Margin always changing values, etc.

I used DSLstats tool and was able to grab some graphs. Maybe some of you experts can tell me if there's something wrong with the line which will require local visit of techs in order to fix.

Do you have the SNRM and Connection speed graphs for the same time period?

I'm curious as to what could have happened to half the bits on tones 255+

Welcome to the kitz forum.  :)

From looking at the three plots you have attached to the opening post I can see it is an ADSL2+ circuit. Unfortunately there is nothing that I can deduce from those plots.

It would be helpful to see the Bit Loading, the SNR, the QLN and the Hlog plots as they would give an indication of any physical problem with the line.

I suspect that you are not based in the UK and so any suggestions that we make may not be appropriate for the service provided by your ISP. But we can try.

Welcome to the forum aicoper!

Are you able to telnet into your modem-router and get the stats that way? See: routers - Kitz’ instructions and look up your modem model.

That’s the good stuff, any more where that came from? That page of instructions will tell you what the default login and password is for the modem-router and the instructions have default IP addresses where you can find the modem. Ask if you need any help!
