Switched to Zen, not getting expected speeds
« on: June 29, 2020, 12:18:11 AM »

Hi there, a few days ago I switched from BT where I was getting about 50/15 to Zen where i'm now getting 40/8 (according to speedtest.net).
I haven't resynced my modem since the switchover, uptime is currently 2 days and 17 hrs so I understand I am still in the training period but things aren't improving.
Interleaving is still active resulting in 20ms ping and the slower speeds. Downstream SNR has dropped from 6dB on Day 1 to 5.5-5.8dB. (On BT it was usually 2.6-3.2).
Should also be noted I am getting some errors. ES on day 1 was about 60. ES on day 2 was 15/32 and today 14/37. Primarily FEC errors with some HEC and CRC sprinkled in.

Should I just be patient or is it possible DLM has got stuck?

Cheers

If your SNR with BT was circa 3dB then you will have had G.INP activated on the line. The switch to Zen will have caused a DLM reset, putting you back to default line parameters (ie 6dB and interleaved as per your stats). If you leave it alone you should find that G.INP is reactivated in a few days and the SNR should then drop in 1dB steps back to 3dB, hopefully restoring your previous speed.
At this stage you need to play the waiting game.

Although that upstream test is a bit low as you are connected at 14 up and I wouldn't expect that to change.
