Father's Day
« on: June 21, 2020, 12:07:34 PM »

Just a quick note to wish a Happy Father's Day to those celebrating it, whether their children are human or feline.

Also World Humanist Day - a fist-bump to those following this beautiful philosophy.

Congratulations to everyone on waking up to start another day on the rolller-coaster that is 2020!

I had a father's day card from my daughter which urged me to "Have a great Father's day from a safe social distance" :)

My daughter gave me a card with a cassette tape on the front, and a prezzie of a model parrot with eyes that light up in the dark.

Do you think she's trying to tell me I have started repeating myself?

I got my first ever fathers day card this year.

A sturdy hard-backed package arrived last monday with instructions not to open it until sunday.    I was a bit puzzled because at first i couldn't think what was special about that day.  In the end i thought it may just be a get better type of thing to make me smile, as she couldnt get over this weekend to help out... which shes been having to do since my accident

I opened the package to find various small trinkets and another envelope containing a card which showered me with confetti and said something like 'you dont need balls to be a dad'.    ;D

There's confetti everywhere.   I don't think she thought that one through .. either that or not realise how far it would trek as i cant clear it up.
Cats had fun with it though as it flutters around if there's a draft of air.   someone called round last evening to check i was ok and said whats that all over the floor and cupboard in the hall?     By this morning its scattered around the lounge and even up the stairs.   It is kind of pretty though - certainly colourful :)
