xdB extended to lower value?
« on: June 16, 2020, 11:29:20 AM »

At about 02:10 this morning my connection dropped after 120 days of uptime at 3.6 dB downstream SNRM, and 15 minutes later it reconnected at 79999/20000 with a downstream SNRM of 1.6 dB. It's stayed at exactly that value up to the time of writing. There was no power cut.

Stats before and after are shown below. Can anyone explain this rather odd event?

Yes, certainly looks that way.

Would guess you have remained on DS Re-Tx low profile also (INP is less than 50) you can of course confirm this with your bearer 0 INPRein zero value.
Have found on the 3 lines I monitor (Huawei DSLAM's) that DS Re-Tx profiles have all migrated to Re-Tx high profile over the last few months with no particular change in line stat's otherwise noted.

Possibly new line cards fitted.

Has the cabinet ever had an HD expansion fitted?
It might have 1 now.

You've probably just reconnected before some crosstalkers after work on the cabinet, still at 3dB.

Edit: I've only seen that line card/firmware version once before, on a G.Fast connection oddly enough.

I missed the fact that the firmware version had changed. I suppose that my line must have been one of the first to connect after the change, with the rest connecting shortly afterwards. By the time DSLstats took its next sample, crosstalk had dropped the SNRM to 1.6 dB, and the actual target SNRM didn't show in the recorded stats.

I'll have a look at the cabinet later to see if there are any visible changes. Up to now there haven't been.

[Later] No, there aren't any visible changes.
