Transferring photos to PC?
« on: June 15, 2020, 12:11:59 PM »

I have windows 10 Pro now and things look to have changed when using my SD cards.

I take lots of photos and then obviously load to the P.C.

When putting the SD card into my USB2 card reader, the display shows.........

"select devices to import from" then the options are my card reader and two of my hard drives?

This makes it very difficult to get my photos into my editing software.

It used to be much simpler to "open folders" when I had wind 10 home it seems.

Questions...

1/ Is this something new to ALL versions of windows?

2/ Can I get it back to simply Open folders to view etc?

Hope this makes sense?

Thanks, Parkdale.
I really should explore all the options in windows, shouldn't I. Instead of being lazy and asking you guys. :-[

NP Bob :)

Sadly Microsoft has created a two tier system now ..... "Settings" and our old friend "Control Panel" both should be doing the same job! but somewhat lacking in execution ??? :-X
I spent several days trying to get rid of old file history markers dating back to windows 7!

I can never remember how to easily reach the network adapter link rate information.  Its absolutely bonkers this isn't clearly visible.

Right click on Network Icon, Network Settings, Change Adapter Options, right click adapter and status.

I took a few photos and tried it again.
Great, it's back to normal (as I liked it) now.
Thanks again, everyone.  :)

Right click on Network Icon, Network Settings, Change Adapter Options, right click adapter and status.

I'll probably forget again but thanks.

Still its nuts how many clicks that takes, what's wrong with hovering over the network icon to show you the link rate?  Or at least show you in the network summary page.  I thought it did at one point but has disappeared again.
