Multiple SHINEs causing broadband disconnection
« on: May 15, 2020, 01:26:57 PM »

Over the past week, I've detected multiple occurrences of SHINE happening seemly at random with the only thing that's constant between all events that it happened during daylight hours.

The first recorded event was on the 10th of May 2020 at 16:12
Then two on the 14th of May 2020 at 13:19 and roughly 18:23
Then today there's another recorded event at roughly 10:40

ISP: BT
Modem: Openreach Huawei HG612
Connection type: FTTC/VDSL2

How have you determined that it's SHINE rather than any other cause? You've got some disconnections and graphs of the SNRM going down and up. Anything could have caused that. Someone working in a cabinet / underground chamber / up a pole temporarily disturbing your line. Your however many years old HG612 starting to fail. Unless whatever it is becomes a regular occurrence I don't think there's anything you need to do about it.
