Well, I'm pretty sure it's not definitive and that probably isn't an Aggregation Node  :-\

Thanks.  ;)

That is definitely an AGG.

I was in Eccleshall a couple of weeks ago and BT were I think installing fibre at the Sancerre Grange development.

Thank you.  :)  (I won't ask for a translation of the runic inscription, hand-written in white and seen clearly in the second image.)

Ha ha -  ;D ;D

It is indeed those 'runes' that tell us what the item is - every joint (Agg - IJ - Track joint - cable chamber joint) has its own unique T-Code.  :)

More progress. Seems like my fibre optic will be coming via poles.

That is certainly optical fibre based infrastructure . . . but the detail is not clear enough to see the specifics. However, it is good news.

You will have two new pieces of furniture attached to that pole .... an IJ (that feeds two other CBT's) and your own 8-port CBT.

More progress. Seems like my fibre optic will be coming via poles.

The lower object on the pole is a 'Strain relief' block as some of the fibre cables are 'Greased' inside and over time work out of the outer plastic casing.

Around our village fibre hung on the poles like that for well over a year and only some local farms/houses are only just getting connected up, hope your goes a bit quicker.

Our village fibre 'PON's' got lit up about four weeks ago and we can order if we want (Due to high covid in this area it's too risky to have someone in your house installing.)   some of the outer lying parts are not commissioned yet..

These are called ELM's (External Locking Mechanism).

Thanks for all the replies. I know that fibre has been run from the chamber in our road to a chamber on the main road.

It seem that the overhead fibre is the most practical way to get fibre to the main road chamber.

My VM contract is up in May, so with bit of luck I'll have BT FTTP available and so some haggling to be done.

If we go for BT, I will just need to get sign off from the boss for the ?ONT? . That could be the trickiest part of the exercise. Do BT do relationship counselling?

LOL etc

Some more snaps of the overhead fibre shenanigans round my way.

The first snap is the pole where the fibre funds down I to the ground and has then been trenched to a chamber.

And two more.

Not sure if the cables will be left of the pavement as shown

Lots of connections here. Do you remember the good old days when they used a quick twist and band-aid?
