Hi all,

I fitted a Zyxel VMG-1312-B10A 2 weeks ago as my old HG612 was starting to make a high pitch noise.

Since being on 80/20 (Jan 2020) DLM has attempted to reduce the SNR to 3db twice on the HG612 and twice it has halted

I noticed a re-sync yesterday morning (2am) and earlier had another, thinking it was dropping from 6 to 5 to 4db....well it hasn't.

Do the stats look ok?

Welcome to the kitz forum.

I recall seeing a similar post from you, earlier this evening, in the Thinkbroadband forum . . .

As for the statistics, I've taken a look and cannot see anything that would be a cause for concern. However the "3db profile" in your subject line has had me scratching my head. The statistics clearly show that both the DS and US target SNRMs are 6 dB.

If your line is connected to a Huawei DSLAM and the circuit remains stable then there is the possibility that the DLM will start to reduce the target SNRM, in one dB steps. However that is not guaranteed . . .

Hmm, to me it looks like the DS side is probably running at 5dB.
I can't anything in the numbers that would worry me - in fact I wish I had a line that performed that well!

Hi burakkucat, sorry I don't think I made myself clear.

It's definitely running at 5db, looks like the SNR has drifted a little. It usually connects at 68Mb @ 6db. DLM doesn't seem to want to drop the line lower than 5db on the downstream for some reason. Well it hasn't using my HG612.

I just wondered if you could see anything obvious from the stats.

I should be due another DLM intervention at some point in the next few hours I would expect.

Try a different firmware version.
Plug into your master socket maybe too.... worth a try!

My modem is plugged directly into my 5C master socket.

This has happened on my Huawei HG612 in the past too so I don't think it's the Zyxel.

The SNR plummeted to 2db at one stage, at the same sync speed as it is now.

A few weeks back the HG612 randomly dropped sync and connected at 18Mb down 19Mb up.

I thought it was showing signs of a fault but maybe the line is being subjected to bursts of noise?
