::::::::::::::Thread reactivation:::::::::::::::

Hi,

Ok, got HG612 3b and has been unlocked.... and obviously connected in BRIDGE mode along R7000 with  Xwrt-Vortex   on board

At this moment. Everything seem to be as was on D-Link router - NO G.INP turned on. Same speeds same delays - Short £19 - gained.... nothing?? :shrug2:

Contacted TT before swap and was told:

1. G.INP is always turned on - really?
2. My speeds depend on demand in your area.
3. Your current profile up to 30Mb down - 22.5Mb guaranteed  :wry:

Just reminder, I have had solid 39999 down  and 9999 up for years on D-Link until started fiddling with new "Fancy" asus router...

Talk Talk now blames coronavirus... and more people using broadband

All comments/suggestions WELCOMED!

Thanks

Hi

On the hg612, have you turned off QoS.

If not, you can turn it off and receive approx. 1mb more on upstream

Many thanks

John

Thx Sir - Turned off before swap ;)

Wonder if G.INP will kick on... and wonder why it did not...

Your line has been capped/banded at 30Mb/s by the DLM for too many resyncs.
Probably happened while swapping modems or when tweaking the Asus

Every resync will result in a maximum assume of 30Mb until the DLM removes the cap.
If it weren't for this cap you would be syncing at 40Mb.

I recommend leaving the modem as is for now.

It usually is if the modem supports it.

You are right!

I have had this night DSL re-sync at 1:30am and G.INP is BACK....

Hi,

Looks like HG612 actually giving me some better quality connection. Another mid-night re-sync and I`ve got full speed.... well, download speed... plus G.INP stays ON.

Good news. Not sure why the upstream side is still a bit lower than it needs to be - perhaps DLM still has more to do on this. I'd leave it alone now.

Hi Again,

Over 8 days since HG612 has been installed. Synced with DSLAM twice but upload speed wont go above 8.5Mb  :( Why?

 Shall I wait?

Again, just reminder I have had 39999kbps down and 9999kbps on crappy D-Link 3782 BUT lots of errors and delays at 25-35ms (no G.INP)

- Now - 12-13ms! pinging bbc.co.uk from N. Ireland...

Looking at your SNRM, I see 9.1 dB DS and 8.0 dB US. That 2 dB over the standard SNRM target of 6 dB will account for the lack of (some of) the US throughput.

I would advise that you continue to wait . . .

There is no change in the currently reported SNR from that which you mentioned previously.

Looking at the montage of the four snapshot plots, the QLN plot in particular, I see that there appears to be a slight trace of crosstalk present in the US2 band. However I doubt that it is having any significant effect.

Perhaps other members can see something?  :-\
