Four lines wide simultaneous blip - why?
« on: April 05, 2020, 10:25:22 PM »

At 17:01:48 all my four lines simultaneously blipped, down and up again within 6 secs. That duration might be the minimum because of a polling time at either my end or the ISP’s end. Why did this happen and why  simultaneously ?

Purely theoretical:

Power issue at exchange
Software upgrade on DSLAM at exchange
Power issue on DSLAM in exchange

Based on my line, 6 seconds is much too short for ADSL to have disconnected and reconnected.  What actually went down?  Again based on my experience with our "lock ups" the A&A portal says "Line down (LostCarrier)" for outages where ADSL remains connected but PPP has dropped.

Agreed. This is a burst of packet loss, not a disconnect-reconnect.
