Plusnet contract renewal offers
« on: June 01, 2020, 11:19:07 AM »

I was wondering if anyone on Plusnet has noticed if the offers get better towards the end of your contract, or do they pretty much stay the same?

I currently have an offer to renew for slightly cheaper than I'm currently paying and wondered if I should take it now, or wait closer to my contract end date?

I'm currently paying £20.99 for Plusnet Unlimited Fibre, plus £19.99 line rental. There's an offer on my account to recontract for £26.99 a month, so assuming it is inclusive of line rental, that's a saving of £13.99 a month.
However, clciking the link to view the offer, it's only for the 40/10 connection - I'm currently on 80/20, which is why I haven't renewed (yet).
I'm out of contract, and have been for some time.

That's weird, as mine also says £26.99/month but Unlimited Fibre Extra (currently paying £27.50 so not a huge saving but contract runs out in September).

Unlimited Fibre Extra                     £20.99
Promotional discount (for 18 months)    - £13.99
Line rental                               £19.99
Line Only                                 £0.00
Total                                     £26.99

I went ahead with it as it does seem a good deal, I'm paying more than that for my Zen line WITHOUT line rental, as that lines on BT Basic.

Seems no pone pays same price. I'm paying £27.99 (but including call package, which I think is £9) renewed in May !!!

At least the O/P can now ask for the same deal.
A little bit of bargaining power if you are inclined to 'haggle' for the best deals  ;D

Its quite bizarre, because I must be expensive for them as I use a ton of bandwidth.

You'd think they would offer light users better deals really, especially if they have a good sync rate so increase the "average speed" they are able to advertise.

My PlusNet contract ends on the 5th June, all I have had is an email telling me this, on my account is the renewal offer for 26.99.

I initiated the transfer of my line to Zen yesterday and I got a 'we are sorry you are leaving' email but no follow-up call or offer from PlusNet, I didn't trying to negotiate with them.  I am moving because I am fed up with their inability to provide support - Plusnet have been excellent connection-wise but on two occasions over the last 18 months I have had issues requiring support and it has taken an age to get sorted and the phone waits are looong ....

IMPORTANT The old provider is NOT allowed to make you a deal to stay with them or contact you to tempt you to stay.
Not totally sure if TBB are quoting OFCOM's guidance here but would have thought so.

Completely agree regarding PN's current state, their admin system in particular is broken and they seem incapable of fixing, after 11 years of patronage and 18 months of still unresolved admin issues spanning two contracts I have given up and will be leaving at the end of my current contract.

I left them a month ago and swapped my line to Zen, they offered me the discount on their website which was £26.99 For Fibre Unlimited.

I didn't push very hard for a discount because the main reason for leaving was in spite of generally very good connectivity performance their complete inability to fix issues and slow difficult response to any tickets raised.

I place a relatively high value on being able to talk to someone without waiting for an hour on the phone ....

Hi, sorry for replying to this old thread...

I'm considering leaving my current ISP at some point (I'm out of contract) and moving to Plusnet's fastest FTTC package, which is £28 p/m for 1 year at the moment.

Has anyone recontracted with Plusnet recently, and if so, did they give you a good deal?
