Weird Virgin
« on: March 07, 2020, 04:38:05 PM »

No not me...

So I have a virgin box across the road from me, about 30 yards. Then 8 houses down there is a street and all that road has Virgin.

They've come out before we moved here and said they could fit virgin. They then came out and said nope too much work. I've since learnt that new information I posted previous.

So what I'm asking is what is my approach, what do I need to do and what should be my plan of attack.

P. S. Written this on a small phone so apologies for the grammar and mistakes

there is essentially nothing you can do to force them to provide service.
they've probably deemed the the cost of the work involved outways any income they would make back in providing service.

probably a blocked duct or such like causing a physical obstruction.

You can only order Virgin if they physically "pass" your property and install a Toby box on the edge of your property line.

Nothing you can do to get Virgin to extend their network to you, even if it is only 30m.

Thanks for your help!

So I'm stuck right now. There are 5 houses each side of me that haven't got Virgin either. Would getting them to sign up for cable my street work?

It wouldn't do any harm.

probably a blocked duck or such like . . .

That's what comes with eating too much stale bread.  :D

can't do any harm, but unlikely to make any difference.

virgin have no legal obligation to provide service to any property.
any decision they make to provide service will be based on whether it's financially viable for them to do it.

there are situations where they've laid the cable and then abandoned it.

unless you physically see them digging the pavement directly outside your property then you should assume it's never going to happen.
