Hi

The code last for 5 days and the code is generated when the domain is unlocked.

If not transferred within 5 days, domain is auto locked

So you cannot go wrong unless you unlocked wrong domain to that been transferred.  If so I would expect aa stating domain locked.

You would be best to open a support ticket with 123reg and ask them

or

Allow aa access into your 123reg account to transfer for you
