My DMT starts now on Be Broadband. Any suggestions?
« on: July 09, 2008, 05:38:22 PM »

Here are my line stats from master socket with a Netgear DG834GT. My current ping was about 35ms so Ive put a fastpath request into Be to see how that changes things.
By lowering my SNR target manually to about 3db my line increases to around 13500 Downstream. Am i getting the full upstream sync (without upload+ annex m)?

iirc somewhere around 1300 is the max sync on Annex A.  I got around 1308 on 1st day and my SNRM was 7dB showing there was a "bit spare" on the default profile.

Manually adjusting your SNR via DMT only affects the downstream.
Even when Be adjusted my profile to 3dB, the max I ever got was 1313.. and I still had 7dB SNRM.. Ive also had a few in the 1280's so I would say that yep your getting about the limit.

Overall, looking pretty damn good for a 39.5dB line.  Nice one

BTW - warning- If you ever put in a request for Be to lower your target SNR, then make sure that you have DMT set back to default settings.  eg theres no way youre ever going to sync at a target SNR set at 3dB on Be system, if youve previously used DMT tool to set the rotuer to sync at 3dB below the target.  This of course depends if using the ST router or Netgear specialised firmware that retains DMT settings across a reboot.
