latency test?
« on: January 29, 2020, 06:29:45 PM »

Sorry if wrong forum guys.
I've just learnt what latency means etc etc. :-[
And wondered how to do the test for my Talk Talk BB, so I can enter it into Kitz's thread, to make me look intelligent?  :D

To check your latency perform a traceroute

Code: [Select]
C:\Users\kitz>tracert bbc.co.uk

Tracing route to bbc.co.uk [151.101.64.81]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1    <1 ms    <1 ms    <1 ms  192.168.1.1
  2    12 ms    12 ms    11 ms  gi12-0-0-441.ptn-ag04.plus.net [84.93.253.72]
  3    12 ms    12 ms    12 ms  gi2-23-442.ptn-gw02.plus.net [84.93.253.75]
  4    13 ms    12 ms    12 ms  195.99.125.136
  5    13 ms    13 ms    12 ms  peer2-et-3-0-4.slough.ukcore.bt.net [109.159.252.122]
  6     *        *        *     Request timed out.
