Hello
there are 3 versions of this router, v1, v2 and v3, does anyone know the differences between them?

If we grab all 3 pdfs of Specifications:

V3 https://static.tp-link.com/2019/201905/20190530/TD-W9770(EU)3.0_Datasheet.pdf
V2 https://static.tp-link.com/TD-W9770(EU)%202.0_Datasheet.pdf
V1 https://static.tp-link.com/res/down/doc/TD-W9970_V1_Datasheet.pdf

Both V1 and V2 have 5dbi antennas, V3 has 4dbi antennas,
V1 does not support VDSL2 Standards: ITU-T G.993.5 (G.vector), ITU-T
G.998.4 (G.INP)but V2 and V3 do.

Possibly other stuff, but I'm tired of playing spot the specification difference  ;D

From what I can make out on their support site -  it suggests that some of the differences may be regional.
V3 appears to have additional lightning protection and better antennas.    I do not aim to go through all the spec docs.
However......................

Quote from: Digital
you mentioned that it supports g.inp and g.vector but in w9970 v1 datasheet it doesn't show support for g.inp and g.vector
https://static.tp-link.com/res/down/doc/TD-W9970_V1_Datasheet.pdf
can you please tell me how did you know that it supports these features?

I tested the TD-W9970v1 according to the WebGUI - see image here.  At the time (in 2016) I wasn't aware that there would be further versions

When I wrote the review for the TD-W9770 I got the modem and specifications directly from TP-Link UK.     I don't have a photo of the side of the box & I no longer have this modem, but iirc it also specified as G.993.5 & G.998.4 on the side of the box that it came in.

I am not aware of this particular model having been physically tested with G.Vector as we don't have many cabs in the UK with vectoring, but it certainly does work with G.INP.

From Internet Archive Wayback machine.

Specifications for the TD-W9970v1 dated Sept 2016.
You can see from the captured image it is the same older box version as the one in my photo above from the review and not the same boxes as currently displayed on the tplink site for v2 and v3

Code: [Select]
HARDWARE FEATURES

VDSL2 Standards
ITU-T G.993.2
ITU-T G.993.5 (G.vector)
ITU-T G.998.4 (G.INP)

So by all accounts the UK version at least claims to support both g.vector and g.inp and does indeed work with g.inp in the UK.   According to the tplink website there may be different regional firmwares.   I mention this as I notice you do not appear to be posting from within the UK.

Your questions has been asked in duplicate threads, so I've moved and merged to this one thread.  Please in future try keeping things together.
People will answer and try to help if they can. I do not respond to queries in PMs that can be answered on the open forum.
