BT forced me to move to ADSL for a month before I could then order VDSL. Really loved being back on only 5Mb 😳

Yes I had to do that too, except it didn't remove the tags so I was fighting to then get upgraded back to VDSL as Openreach ordering system said no.  I can't remember how long it took, it seemed forever.

I can't remember exactly what happened but I think Origin offered me the second line for free BECAUSE I'd moved the main line to Zen ADSL and was struggling to get it upgraded to VDSL.  Its roughly documented here.

They were obviously hoping I'd keep the second line after the free period, but it wasn't really an option as I didn't want to lose the phone number and couldn't afford two lines at the time.
