Can't Log Into Router Using Firefox
« on: January 01, 2020, 02:20:52 PM »

all of a sudden i cant log into my Zyxell 8924 on firefox one night, next night it works>? ive disabled all my addons and still the same BUT if i open a private window with last pass only add on it IT WORKS???

does this mean the browser is corrupt?  if so...why would it not work with all addons off in regular mode?>?

add-ons:

Ublock Origin
Norton Safe Web
HTTPS Everywhere
Firefox containers
LAST PASS
Grammarly
Mouse Gestures (as not built in like every other browser)
Privacy Badger
Decetraleyes
HOXX VPN (only used to acces to one geo blocked page) always off
Ghostery

but as i say even with them disabled it still wont log in....but will on a new private window...

can anyone offer advice?

to add ive been having WiFi issues with this device on 5Ghz suddenly just dropping its speed to 4Mbps I have to keep changing channels on it to get anuogh bandwidth (15Mbps+) to watch 4K on Netflix

THANKS AND ALL THE BEST FOR 2020

Have you checked for a saved login with an incorrect password in about:logins?

I very much doubt it. That beta version of the software is not something new.

also last night my sis n nephew could NOT log into wifi - connecting all the time then Auth problems

ALSO ive been having issue with the 5Ghz channel constantly needing moving to get decent speed to my TV 9 ft away (Netflix etc)

Maybe - if the router doesn't allow multiple simultaneous logins and DSLstats is connected. If you have problems again stop and close DSLstats and see if you can then get in.

For some obscure reasons the Web GUI doesn't seem to like Firefox much.
It's been mentioned a few times and Ive even written about it on the main site on the VMG8424 set up page where it won't always save the settings and also on the VMG8324 review that it sometimes doesnt play nice with Firefox.

I'm not sure if it's a CSS issue or a caching problem, but it will usually work with a bit of perseverance.. or if you switch to chrome.

Must admit though I don't think I've had a problem logging in before except for once after using a different modem for a while..  and in that instance I thought it was perhaps a caching problem as they were both on the same IP.

could be... ive been using firefox about 6 months, i would never use Chrome... Vivaldi if anything.. used to be Opera until the chinese got their hands on it, thats why Vivaldi came about.

oh well at least i can get in sometimes, if it becomes serious i will just use Vivaldi to access it and see if it makes any difference

cheers

EDIT: although doesnt explain why my sis n nephew couldnt connect??
