As I don't have anything to hand (or paw), perhaps other members will offer some guidance.  :)

Maybe a VPS solution would work too. They are not sold as VPN as such, and I think they would likely fly under the radar. You could use that to tunnel traffic through too.

Windscribe offer a free service limited to 10Gig per month.  I think they may count both upload and download.   That would be worth a try, with a view to upgrading to their paid for service in due course.  Or only use it for your "sensitive" browsing, for which 10Gig may be enough.

Note when they say "access to 10 countries" I think they're referring to the end-points you can break out at, rather than the countries your connection can originate from.

I certainly second trying underzone's recommendation of Opera's VPN first.

There's more info here
https://www.opera.com/features/free-vpn

I use it to read what seems an increasing amount of US news websites who deliberately block access from the EU, to avoid having to comply with GDPR.
You can select your virtual location from a choice of US, Europe or Asia.

They have asked to register your IPs and I dont know what not! You need to register yourself if you want to use VPN  :-X

Are you using ISP DNS? sometimes just changing the DNS in use works perfectly.

Give vpn.ac or airvpn a try as their services work a treat in heavily censored countries, but use openvpn encryption - its almost bulletproof.
