Replacment for BT homehub
« on: November 27, 2019, 11:15:20 PM »

Hello all
I have had a hub since I got FTTC a couple of years ago and I am thinking about a replacement for it.
I'm not up to speed with the tech, I just recall BT advertising it as  faster wifi than other providers routers etc...
I'm not keen on it becuase-
it makes a irritating noise when it transfers data (a common thing on these apparently)
wifi is not particularly strong to upstairs, despite the claims. I'dsay it was no stronger than ny old NG GT router.

Is it worth investing in a better piece of kit? Do I report it as faulty and hope they send a newer router?
Cheers
Chris
