New iPhone, weak signals
« on: October 31, 2019, 09:40:31 PM »

One thing that disappoints me about my new iPhone 11 Pro is, it doesn’t cope too well with weak signals.   Just curious if anybody found same, even with X or XS/XR.

There’s a pub with a barstool on which I regularly sit, browsing the web and checking email.   With my old 5C, signal strength fluctuated between one and two bars, but never actually dropped the 3g connection.   The 11 Pro regularly drops out on same barstool, falling back to a useless ‘edge’ connection.  It helps if I avoid shielding the back of the phone with my hand, but the old 5C required no such mollycoddling.

It’s not to say the 11 Pro is ‘bad’, maybe it simply says the 5C was ‘good’.   There’ll always be phones that are better than average in poor signal conditions, or worse than average, that’s how averages work.   Mildly disappointing, though. :(
