Firebrick router - automatic software update or not
« on: September 24, 2019, 11:54:38 PM »

Should I have automatic operating system download + update on or off on my Firebrick router ? I’m concerned about disruption of sessions in progress at the time.

I have downloads linked to a profile object set up so that it hopefully won’t download any code unless it is both (i) cheap rate in AA’s time bands and (ii) every one of the DSL lines is up, so that way it won’t slow things down still further at times when internet access is slow anyway.

But I’m having my doubts and thinking I should only download updates by hand.

I am very wary of any automated processes.  :-\

I prefer to be in complete control and would only download updated code when I was ready. Likewise for the actual deployment process.
