https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2019/09/isle-of-wight-isp-wightfibre-bundle-new-tv-service-via-netgem-tv.htmlCable and full fibre broadband ISP WightFibre, which serves homes and businesses on the Isle of Wight (South Coast of Hampshire, England), has entered into a new partnership that enables them to supply a TV service based off the netgem.tv video streaming and set-top-box platform.
This is something I've been talking about for a while. That future tv channels will come entirely by fibre/cable methods rather than via the wonky ariel system we have today. This should be interesting to see how it works out for the Isle of Wight. If all goes well then I suggest ISP's and others should start making efforts to produce, or allow, tv channels to be received over FTTP/FTTC (I mean other than the usual companies, Netflix, Amazon etc).
