Gone right off "high end" consumer Netgear kit
« on: August 14, 2019, 11:08:18 AM »

My first disappointment was that my GS724Tv4 ProSafe 24-port Gigabit Ethernet Smart Switch would not happily play lagg lacp with my several FreeBSD / FreeBSD based dual NIC machines. I have yet to get round to configuring the machines for lagg failover.

The second is the R8000 I was using as an access point has for some time been suffering from the well known but not cured problem where the 2.4G radio stops working, circumvented by applying the WiFi configuration with no changes, rebooting, or an early morning power cycle with a time switch. The problem has become more frequent, now happening several times a day, meaning that I can not remotely control some of my WiFi based home automation. I have finally cracked and ordered myself a Ubiquiti UAP-AC-PRO 24.

Ah, whinging makes me feel better.

Good to be warned. We don’t need this. Thanks.
