What is this pods connected to the PCP?
« on: August 13, 2019, 02:11:00 PM »

Hi,

I've noticed more of these pods around the area I live in, but they don't look like G.Fast Pods and G.Fast isn't planned for my location.
I was wondering if anyone else knows what these pods are for.

This ^^^

They are often added to the PCP to give more room for IDC blocks for the copper cables.
Most PCP's that have 2 FTTC cabinets will have 1 of these expansion pods.

Similar sized/shape pods with vents are for G.Fast.
Although the pod you have pictured looks very similar to the newer G.Fast pods.

As well as the G.Fast pod on our PCP, we also have an expansion pod on our fibre cabinet, presumably to expand the capacity after they built a second phase of houses on our estate.
