?? Sorry I don't understand

Your telephone number at some point will be moved over to VoIP and its easier to move it between providers if its not with BT, theres a greater risk of losing the number or having no broadband for a while, if you ever need to move it.

@adslmax, a couple of things:

1. Good that you are back to 80/20 but do note that there is no longer any surplus SNR margin on your line so don't be surprised if it can't hold that at 6dB.
2. For your new BT service you will have to use the Smart Hub 2 if you want to use digital voice and there is no way around that.

I can use my own router as only changed username and password. I don't like BT Hub 2 but will use it for WiFi only! The Billion 8800NL will stay the same just changed to username and pasword to BT one and hook it up with BT Hub 2 as wireless only as it far better wireless than Billion.

As for Digital voice - I wouldn't bothered use it cos I never make any calls from bt landline or future digital voice. I use my own mobile phone for unlimited texts and sms. Only using BT Broadband for broadband only but at cheaper £20 a month.

Just got my BT updated: Activation date been pushed back to July 10th now.

@adslmax,
If you are going to use the Smart Hub for WiFi, and I assume routing, then you might as well use it for everything as it's got a decent Broadcom chipset in it so should give decent rates on your line.

That's good to know that BT HUb 2 got broadcom chipset on it. I might as well use it then.
