Can't offer Faster Fibre....
« on: June 17, 2019, 05:09:48 PM »

Guys

I have a PN FTTC running at about 68mb, and a VDF FTTC running at 40mb at home.

I was considering upgrading the VDF FTTC to the higher speed but I now find that ALL ISP's only offer me the slower 40mb service on both phone numbers!

The BT Wholesale website shows the correct speeds - ie that the line will sustain the speeds I have....so no clues there.

So what are the ISPs using to assess my speed?

Can I complain or get reassessed?!?!

I would appreciate your views!

What does the BTw checker say for each line when entering the phone no?

(ensure you remove any personal info such as phone number before posting any results on the forum)

The faster range 1 clean is 58.3, impacted 56.2 and observed speed latest 64.99.

Does that help!??!

I'm just along the road on the Dalkeith exchange.

Can you check what packages Zen show as available for your numbers?

If they only show the 40Mb package can you then check the address only, without phone number.

Thanks.   I can't see any reason why they wouldn't offer it at least on the line running at 68Mbps.  :/
It would be interesting what the BTw estimated range for the 2nd line is

The checker shows for the second line the max that is on the primary line but observed is 42.94/13.23

My next worry is of course crosstalk as that could impact when both are at the higher speed - I would assume the higher bandwidth service will use would expand the frequency spectrum used.
