Do Openreach modems still update?

Does this mean:

1) They are not making any new firmware updates but modems will still update to the latest current firmware released

2) or they have stopped firmware updates completely even if you have an old device that hasn't been updated yet

I will answer "no" and "yes" to your two questions.

Basically the Huawei EchoLife HG612 and the ECI B-FOCuS /r (or earlier /I) devices are obsolete.
