Price on their website for broadband and phone with free w/e calls is £39.  :-\
He ordered broadband without phone (standalone) on a 30 day rolling contract, which is £7/mo cheaper than the 30 day equivalent with phone included even without factoring in the "special discount". Presumably this was intentional, just so he can switch to G.fast on short notice when the service is available...  ;) ;) ;) :P

I never bother with landline or phone calls never do. I use my own mobile with unlimited calls & text but Virgin with phone mean saving of £36 in a year but mine was good deal £42 a month with £75 credit (with credit spread over 12 months will be reduced the bill around £35.75 a month overall for standalone broadband only on a 30 days contract)

I wish I could get Virgin.  Its annoying as their nearest supported property is not much further away than the BT cabinet. :(

Ah right.  The 30 day rolling contract pricing was hidden* and I had to google to find those prices.  Looks like they usually charge circa £15pm extra for 30 day as opposed to 12 month contracts, so yes in that case you got a decent deal.

*It's sometimes difficult for me to navigate straight there as they don't cover my area, so I never see all their offers.

I may try them out on the 30 day offer, myself just the curiosity to see if they improved on my street, as my neighbour left VM so I basically am blind now on local performance.

You've been rather quiet, Max. Has something gone wrong with the VM service? Are you completely off-line and isolated?

As for usage, it will be heavy soon because my daughter boyfriend come to live with us he want to use xbox, my daughter want to use netflix and I use sky nowtv for Sky Altantic Game of Thrones

I manage considerably more devices than that on my 44Mb FTTC.

I couldn't see you having an issue with the above on an 80Mb line.

Didn't you want to give them a chance to rectify the issue?

It seems as if the VDSL2 (ITU-T G.993.2) service will not let you go.

Despite it sometimes dropping a few Kbps below 80 Mbps every now and again, it continues to serve. :P
