From other Zyxel models seen with a 'T' after the hyphen in the model number I'm pretty sure the VMG1312-T20B will have a Mediatek chipset.
For VDSL it'll likely be fine if you are fairly close to the cabinet but personally I'd avoid it otherwise. No idea how they perform on an ADSL circuit but I suspect there'll be rather less access to stats than on a Broadcom based device.

The "T" in the VMG1312-T20B indicates not a Broadcom chipset. (I forget which chipset it indicates.)
