FTTC extra info
« on: April 14, 2019, 11:33:40 PM »

I thought Plusnet profile are speed (as it showed mine as standard) my parents line is on speed profile. Do u think I should raise this to Plusnet and asked them to put me on speed profile.

I fetch these detail via this link: http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/totl.input

The BT Wholesale "Standard" DLM policy is the same as the OpenReach "Speed" DLM policy.

You're already on the Speed profile.

Why would you want the same speed with less stability? FTTC is capped at 80 and you are already on it.

If it is raised with PN, they will be wanting to know how you got that info and you can bet access to information will be closed.
As jelv said FTTC is capped at 80 and I doubt it would make much difference to your line.

I want my line to be at speed to get prioritise speed over stability for online gamers because standard are best overall balance between speed and stability.

I can ask PN what are my line DLM policy are eg: speed, standard or stable. Won't metion them of this link. The link don't work anymore as it asked for login and password cos I got the link from someone over at ThinkBroadband Forum but I think MrSaffron might reported this to BT but I did notice BT warning below:

You're already on the Speed profile.

Plusnet tech support told me my line is on the stable by BTw and standard by Openreach (21/08/18) to stable my line because of last DLM removed banded last summer (standard by BTw and speed by Openreach as of 20/08/18) and PN can't put my line back on speed profile due to DLM policy on the line to keep my line at maximum stable.

Looks like you're right.
I read BT Wholesale and assumed it to be 1 of their checkers, using their terminology.

I'm also showing as the Speed DLM policy.

The DLM policy being Speed or Standard has no bearing on your latency.
Only interleaving would add latency.
Low interleaving adds 8ms delay.

Your line has G.INP/ReTx so there's nothing DLM related adding to your ping times.

17/18ms is very high for your part of the country.

Do you have a ThinkBroadband BQM running?

Your ping time from the BQM is about 9-10ms.
