Three hungry hatchlings were being fed bits of dismantled bird --

Weaver:
Where is the male ? Does he also participate in feeding the younglings?

I read that some are monogamous, same partner for life. I also read that they mate in the air, is that really true?

burakkucat:
I believe that both parents take turns in keeping the eggs warm and, once hatched, bringing food for & feeding the young.

As for the mating process, I do not know. I've certainly never witnessed any such activity.

I have seen it happen on the 'scrape' (nest) on one of the webcams once.

burakkucat:
The three young are now just given some food and then left to eat it, in their own time.
