Visa card fraud (not)
« on: March 04, 2019, 12:02:47 PM »

I just got a call from scammer pretending to be from Visa, advising me of card fraud on my account.   I started to play along, intending to find out what his game was, but we got cut off unexpectedly after a minute or so.  Disappointing.  :(

I assume the plan would have been to seek out answers to my personal security questions as held at my bank.   He could then call the bank, and request a new card/Pin, or report a change address, whatever.    Just guessing, though.

Calling number was displayed as “0000000000”, but a cleverer scammer would change it to a meangful number, like one of the banks contact lines.

Stating the obvious, but worth being aware it’s a scam!
