changed ISP, 8ms delay and INP 3.0 are still there?
« on: October 03, 2019, 07:47:47 PM »

I've changed my ISP recently and my service just went live this afternoon.  ;D
I have noticed the 8ms delay and INP 3.0 are still on my downstream. They showed up when my line was banded by BT one month ago.
Is that normal? How long does it take for them to disappear?

If you was to move from say BTw to BTw and both isps use the same DLM/product profile, I think this is expected as you still on the same openreach product.

I actually moved from BT to Talktalk

8mS delay is normal when G.inp is active. What's your problem you are synced at full speed up and down?

Yes I'm connected to a Huawei cabinet.

Yes my speed is fine, I was just wondering for how long this delay would stay?

It most certainly isn't.

Interleaving with an 8ms delay is the DLM default on both Huawei and ECI cabinets for new lines, migrations and DLM resets

Fastpath on ECI or G.INP on Huawei will remove the delay.

Hi J0hn,
Just noticed your reply from another thread which should explain my situation, although my line seems sync at full speed from the beginning. :D

The vast majority of users who switch ISP will have an immediate increase in ping/latency with a decrease in speed.

When you switch ISP the DLM (Dynamic Line Management) resets. This enables Interleaving which increases ping by 8ms.
Interleaving also takes roughly 10% of the sync speed.

If the line remains stable this will return as Interleaving will be removed.

The ISP has zero say in this. It happens with most migrations.
The ISP has zero control of the DLM.

hopefully its as quick for ECI cabinets, as these also dont default to interleaving now and I am interleaved following my isp change.
