hi j.man

with ati and nvidia being the biggest contenders in the graphics market, either of the ranges will work with almost any motherboard/cpu thats been on the market for the last 5 - 10 years.

your biggest obstacle when choosing one of these cards is the price.

Unless you really want to be at the cutting edge of high speed gaming, last year's graphics cards are fine and can be bought for quite low prices from online suppliers like Ebuyer

Of course it goes without saying make sure you buy a card with the correct connector i.e. AGP or PCI Express!

Not that I was suggesting you'd get it wrong, you understand!

lol I built this PC so of course I know what type of card i'm on. SiS Mirage 3 uses a PCI Connector so there Chris  :P

I had to put in a SiS Mirage 3 due to my old Graphics card causing the Cooling system to fail and the cooling fan flying into the motherboard and cutting it but it was a cheap repair just need a new G-Card a new M'board and a new CPU.

Oh and sorry for the dodgy abbreviations like G-Card and M'board.  ;D

yea i thought so, PCI is really out of date, much like AGP. Those £300 cards i think are for CAD related software. I know the quadro is.

I'd wait until you upgrade your motherboard. PCI Express is the latest, most common now. You *Should* feel the difference when you do.
