I hope this is the correct forum.
I am experiencing problems with wifi disconnecting on laptop and phone. The laptop and andriod phone have been connected to router using 5g, another andriod phone using 2.4g connection is not losing the wifi connection. I have changed both laptop and phone to connect using 2.4g and disconnections have ceased. It would appear that the problem is with the router itself.
When phone has disconnected it has normally reconnected a while after phone is taken out of sleep mode. On laptop sometimes reconnecting by using windows settings resolves the problem, other times router has been rebooted and on one occasion laptop had to be rebooted.
I had been using the 5g connection as this is faster (?) than 2.4g and has a stronger signal.
The laptop connects to wifi via Realtek wirless lan adpator plugged into USB port. Router is Billion 8800 AKL R2 3G/4G LTE VDSL/ADSL2.
Any suggestions as to what might be causing this problem.
