Cat attack
« on: December 29, 2018, 01:51:14 AM »

Caoimhe has just taken a piece out of my hand with her claws, a first. She was under my duvet by my side. Pangur Bàn came up to her wanting to crawl in alongside her. Always ready to think evil where none is meant she assumed he was about to attempt to displace her from the nice warm spot that she had created, and so lashed out at him viciously with her claws. Unfortunately at just that moment my hand was in the way as I was about to stroke her, so I saved Pangur Bàn and was left with a sore and bleeding hand myself. Hurts like hell now still.

Got any Germaline?   I find it works really well on cat scratches.   It contains a mild local anaesthetic which soothes the horrible itchy type pain that occurs when scratched by a cat.

The pink-stuff in a circular tin? Is it still made? Can't say that I've seen it in many years . . .

I remember that stuff. My mum was very keen in it. I soaked my hand in TCP, which took the stinging pain away immediately. Parts of my hand are a bit of a minor wreck though.

I don't think I've seen it in a tin since I was a teen either  :D   It's been in a metal tube for years and iirc a plastic tube for about the past 5-10 years.
I always have at least one tube in the house.  IMHO it's much better than the likes of Savlon.   The fact that it contains a local anaesthetic and has anti-itch properties mean it's ideal for insect bites and stings as well as scratches.

Don't think I've seen that one before, I shall have to keep an eye open for it.
