BT 2700 HGV - end of an era
« on: June 23, 2023, 08:32:21 AM »

I've finally given up on my long line ADSL and switched over to Mobile Broadband. 3G is faster where I live and averages at about 12M, not exactly fast but still 3 to 4x the speed of the ADSL. It's also a fair bit cheaper and on a 1 month rolling contract.
Sad to see the 2700 HGV switched off as it's been reliable over the past couple of years. I think I'll keep one just in case, but not sure what to do with the spares

Agreed, had one for quite a while on ADSL before switching to something with stats.

Had a clear out of my old routers recently, but couldn't bear to part with the 2700HGV. Outshone everything else on my previous long rural line.

Still lots of them on eBay, hardly worth listing for the price I'd get. If anyone needs one, let me know?

Ironically a lot of old hardware actually sells for less than a replacement for the PSU they come with.  Particularly if they are new-old stock it can be a cheap way to get a PSU.
